The Lasagna Dinner...

A delicious time was had by all at Saturday evening's Lasagna Dinner. I don't know why I'd forgotten to mention it, but there was an actual program involved, including another hilarious joke from Mary Lowery, a stump speech by candidate Gwen King ("Remember in November!") and then the keynote by David Van Os.
David's about 3 parts Texan, 1 part lawyer and 1 part a fire-n-brimstone preacher. And all 5 parts are old school liberal. He gave another one of his patented barn-burnin' speeches that left people jumping up for an ovation.
It was good chow, good company, good entertainment, and a good fundraiser. Hope you were there, but if you weren't, see you there next time.

You say Lasagna, and I say La-ZOHN-ya

However ya say it, there's little better than a hot, pile of lasagna begging for your plate. On Saturday night at 6, at that Holiday Inn Express in Boerne, there's going to be more lasagna than you can shake a stick at. But why shake a stick when you can take a fork to it? And that's not all. There will be wine, and there will be salad, and there will be wine (tip of the hat to you Mary).
And not only that, but this pasta-rific meal will be served to the best people in Kendall County: its Democrats! C' know it's true. Liberals are more interesting people than those other folks. And liberals + lasagna! Holy tamoly, I can hardly wait.
It all gets started at 6 o'clock. The lasagna dinner isn't just a fun social event; it's a fund-raiser for Kendall County Democrats. We've got to establish a party headquarters in September, so that we can do our part to sweep Democrats to victory in November. And if you can have a heaping helping of lasagna, and help insure a Democratic victory, why the heck wouldn't you?

The George W Bush Sewage Plant

The recently formed Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco wants to honor the 'current leader of the free world' by changing the name of the Oceanside Wastewater Treatment Facility to the George W Bush Sewage Plant. The group is asking for help in getting the word out. Their aim is to get the proposal on the ballot in November.
I wish them luck.......what a fitting legacy.
