Awww, and It Was Such an Important Piece of Legislation!

I have to admit I think that the suggestive dancing by cheerleaders is a little unnerving to watch, but it's more unnerving to think of their moves being legislated by a bunch of dirty old men and repressed, pursed-mouth women on some state commission! This issue needs to stay within each school district, and needs to be governed by parents and school officials. Hey, Texas Legislators, be more worried about our students' education, and how to increase their intellectual curiosity! Now that's something I can shake my bootie about!

The House approved the legislation May 3 and sent it to the Senate Education Committee, where it is expected to die.

“We have some very important work to do in the next two weeks, and that’s not one of them,” Republican state Sen. Florence Shapiro, who chairs the education committee, said Friday.
