The Bad Old Days
Three Good Reasons Not To Join The Military, is an anti-recruiting pamphlet written by Tariq Khan, a junior at George Mason University in Fairfax County, Virginia. He is a 4 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a Pakistani-American who was born in the United States.
On September 29, Khan was put in a chokehold and arrested and threatened with criminal charges for protesting a Marine recruiter on campus and holding a sign saying "Recruiters lie. Don't be deceived". The same week that this happened there were other protests at other universities, but it is the community college student protesters who will suffer the most, because they are generally less affluent than those at 4 year schools and will be better targets for the recruiters.
It's beginning to look like the bad old days are back.
