The Sierra Club has a gas calculator to help you see how much money you could save on your Labor Day weekend trip if automakers were required to use higher fuel enconomy. They have the technology, but with an administration full of oil executives, no incentive. Maybe if the cost of gas goes higher, voices will get louder.
