West Wing Fiction

Watching "West Wing" last night, I couldn't help but compare the fictional President Bartlett's abilities with those of our own'real president'. The TV president was fast, smart and decisive when handling a domestic nuclear emergency; also fair and honest with the American public. Could our own west wing inhabitant behave as well under similar circumstances? I am really afraid not.

FYI: nothing to do with your point, really, but actually the President isn't directly involved in nuclear emergencies like the one depicted. See http://RadDecision.blogspot.com for a accurate portrayal of a nuclear accident in the United States. There's no cost to readers.

Good point, James. But he is directly involved in making sure the best people possible are directly involved. So I am still worried about the current president's choices & actions during any domestic emergency.
I'll start reading RadDecision today; I love a good thriller.
