The boy who cried "Terror!"

Ok, is anyone else getting tired of this little "terror plot" game? I don't ever believe anything coming out of this administration--nor Blair's administration anymore. Also, the timing is just a little too neat. We pathetic Democrats are so soft on terror and security, and the nation must be reminded how dangerous this mean old world is. Grrrgh.

You know, Mr. Rightwinger. You're right. I was off the mark, but please don't act like George Bush had anything to do with foiling this plot. He truly doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. We are NOT safer because of that jackass. We're just lucky that the Brits know what the hell they're doing. Also, you gotta admit that the timing is a little hinky. They knew about this last week and decided to announce it after spending all day deriding those who voted against Lieberman. Being pro-war is not being smart--or being tough on terror. It just means we're the newest bullies on the world's playground.

The question the Bush folks have to ask is "Why do so MANY people hate us so much?" Our actions in Iraq and our blank check to Israel have something to do with that.

I applaud the oustanding police work which netted these highjackers before anyone could be killed.

But I hate that what my country is doing is generating so many nutjob fundementalists who are willing to do anything they can to kill Americans.
Bumper sticker: We're Creating Terrorists Faster Than We Can Kill Them.

Common sense tells you that when that creating terrorists might not be the best thing to do for your kids' future.

The only thing I LOATHE about my country is people like you, who proudly point to their Constitution…as it gets systematically dismantled. You’re incapable of processing the reality that not everyone sees the world precisely as you do.

CLUE: that’s what a f-r-e-e country is all about. Can’t handle that? Move to a country which is unified in thought. Iran comes to mind.

I’m an American thru-n-thru and the idea that some small change right wingnut like you is telling me I loathe my country is downright laughable.

Dubya nearly made me sick last night, when he smirked that we are safer now that we were before 9/11.

Are you in some kind of fog? Don't you read the newspapers? Don't you realize how many have died since our invasion of Iraq. Don't you understand how we are now hated by the rest of the world and how many more suicide bombers Bush has created, all eager to kill westerners?
Stop listening to Rush and open up a newspaper or two, and read some newsmagazines. Open up your mind!

Jackie--
Pre-requisite to believing the far-fetched ideas of neo-conism is the idea that if you kill prominent leaders and/or large numbers of the opposition, that the opposition will shrink away in fear and diminish.

We killed hundreds of thousands--more than a million?--in Viet Nam, and as we left Saigon, the opposition was sweeping in after us.

CLUE: it doesn't work.

Neo-con thought is like mental masturbation: it all happens in the mind, and it plays out in so logical a fashion.

But here in the REAL world, if someone kills your brother, you're filled with hate and a desire for revenge. So is your family, and your brother's friends.

If you as an invading force, kill thousands of those people, do the math: you are necessarily creating terrorists far more quickly than you can kill them.

The absurdity of neo-cons' belief that we would be greeted as liberators diminished in direct proportion to the number of non-combatants we killed.

The neo-con philosophy would be laughable if they weren't in a position to do such damage to this country.

Richard Nixon said that when the Vietnamese were able to take over the war, we would leave. And when did we leave? How many died?
History repeats itself in Iraq for God's sake.
As for the latest news on terror...did you, Mr. Rightwinger, not notice that we are not any safer? It's all eyewash.
You go to France sweetie. I will keep my proud veteran ass here and fight for the constitution as my ancestor did in the Massachusetts militia in the Revolutionary War and fight for my constitutional rights.
