He doesn't do impromptu!
This article from a German magazine tells the story that Republicans here refuse to believe...their president can't be spontaneous because his handlers are terrified of what he'll say!

In the end, the town hall meeting was never officially dropped from the agenda of the trip -- instead it was dealt with in polished diplomatic style -- both sides just stopped talking about it."

Gosh, I thought democracy meant freedom of speech. I guess Bush thinks that screening all questions from citizens in this country and elsewhere, screening reporters questions, and planting a "reporter" to ask questions to make him look good, all are new ideas of democracy that I was totally unaware of...you see, I thought that kind of behavior smacked of dictatorship. Guess, King George is not only educating the US on democracy, but Europe as well. It's George's democracy or the highway.
